ARTS ORGANIZATIONS IN GREATER GRAND FORKS

There are many ways to get involved with the Arts in Greater Grand Forks!

The Grand Cities Children's Choir

The Grand Cities Children’s Choir (GCCC) is a performance-based music education program whose mission is to offer young people the experience of musical artistry and excellence through choral singing in a youth-centered atmosphere. GCCC is available to young people in grades 3 through 9 in the greater Grand Forks and East Grand Forks area.

Northern Valley Youth Orchestras

The Northern Valley Youth Orchestras program offers young string, wind, brass and percussion musicians the opportunity to stretch and challenge themselves in a supportive setting. Dynamic and accomplished conductors and educators,  and demanding but exciting music make for a stimulating, educational experience.

The Empire Theatre Company

The Empire Theatre Company is a professional theatre company focused on producing contemporary work that is rarely or never seen in our region. Programming is held at the historic Empire Arts Center in downtown Grand Forks.

Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre

The Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre (GGFCT) is a non-profit organization established in 1947 to provide entertainment, education and recreation to the region through the opportunity to experience and participate in live theatrical entertainment. We are listed as one of the ten oldest community theatres in the nation ("Millennium Theatres" by Theatre USA).

North Dakota Museum of Art

The North Dakota Museum of Art, by legislative act, serves as the official art museum of the State of North Dakota. The Museum's purpose is to foster and nurture the aesthetic life and artistic expression of the people living on the Northern Plains. The Museum will provide experiences that please, enlighten and educate the child, the student and the broad general public. Specifically, the Museum will research, collect, conserve and exhibit works of art. It will also develop programs in such related arts as performance, media arts and music. 

ArtWise

The ArtWise mission is to give children in the Greater Grand Forks area opportunities to explore their unique abilities through the visual arts, to foster their self esteem and to increase the community's awareness, appreciation, and participation in children's visual arts activities.

ArtWise programs include the Elementary Art Show in the spring, summer Art By Children (ABC) Artist Reception for Business Art Lease, our Kids Art Calendars in the fall and Winter Art Camps4Kids. ArtWise also develops children's activities for local service club and other organizations' festivals. 

North Dakota Ballet Company

Founded in 1962, The North Dakota Ballet Company, the official ballet company of the state of North Dakota, is a non-profit dance organization committed to promoting classical ballet and other dance styles in Grand Forks and the surrounding areas.

 

The organization evolved as a professional performance company and has hence become a strong school and artisitic programming outlet for the Grand forks community for the past 59 years. Through our programming we focus on training children-adults on the artistry of dance, movement, musicality, as well as self confidence and character development.
